Facebook C.E.O Zuckerberg Vows To Work Harder To Block Hate Speech

Press Release Washington – Facebook Chief Executive Mark Zuckerberg said his company would step up efforts to block hate messages in Myanmar as he faced questioning by the U.S. Congress about electoral interference and hate speech on the platform.

Facebook has been accused by humanrights advocates of not doing enough to weed out hate messages on its social-media network in Myanmar, where it is a dominant communications system.

“What’s happening in Myanmar is a terrible tragedy and we need to do more,” Zuckerberg said during a five-hour joint hearing of the Senate Commerce Committee and Senate Judiciary Committee.

More than 650,000 Rohingya Muslims have fled Myanmar’s Rakhine state into Bangladesh since insurgent attacks sparked a security crackdown last August.

United Nations officials investigating a possible genocide in Myanmar said last month that Facebook had been a source of anti-Rohingya propaganda.

Marzuki Darusman, chairman of the UN Independent International Fact-Finding Mission on Myanmar, saidin March that social media had played a “determining role” in Myanmar.“

It has … substantively contributed to the level of acrimony and dissension and conflict … within the public.

Hate speech is certainly of course a part of that.

As far as the Myanmar situation isconcerned, social media is Facebook, and Facebook is social media,” he said.

Zuckerberg said Facebook was hiring dozens more Burmese-language speakers to remove threatening content.

“It’s hard to do it without people who speak the local language, and we need to ramp up our effort there dramatically,” he said, adding that Facebook was also asking civil societygroups to help it identify figures who should be banned from the network.

He said a Facebook team would also make undisclosed product changes in Myanmar and other countries where ethnic violence was a problem.

MMM Officially Shutdown Global Website and Social Handles

One minute silence for the founder of MMM - Sergey Mavrodi.

His death put uncertainty in the face of MMM global participants when the System was put on pause mode to honor his exit.

He died on March 26, 2018 in Moscow, Russia. Now, the platform is going down with him.

Jump To[hide]Official Statement Of Shutdown

Many people lost their hard earned money on the site while some made some good returns from the site.

The news now is that, MMM is shutting down and every of its social handles.

On trying to access MMMoffice.com, you will get an error message. Meaning the site is no longer available. Even its official Twitter account has been deleted.

According to the official statement posted on its global website on April 6, 2018, the Ponzi site will not continue its operations without the founder Sergey Mavrodi as it's impossible and makes no sense.

He is the ideological inspirer.

Official Statement Of Shutdown

“After much deliberation, we have made the conclusion that continuing the System operation, without our leader and ideological inspirer, is impossible and makes no sense. We all carried out the tasks he assigned to us since we had no doubt in his genius and rightness of the path he had chosen.

We are firmly aware of the fact that none of us has a full view of his conception’s profoundness and sequence of all the actions to achieve a final goal, declared in the “MMM’s Ideology.

Sergey Mavrodi’s broad-mindedness scale is unprecedented.

Therefore any attempts to continue the System operation without him are bound to fail.

We respect him immeasurably and cannot afford to allow that our unskilled actions may cause profanation of his concepts.”

In view of the above, with deep sadness, we have to announce the ultimate and irreversible MMM closure.

We also remind (as a matter of form) that all users were fully aware of the risks and read the WARNING and confirmed that by checking the relevant box when registering.

Hoping for your understanding, Administration.

Let's say a good bye to MMM Global.

Revealed!! How To Download Google Pixel Launcher Without Root

You can now download Google Pixel Launcher on any Android phone even without rooting the device.

This will be an interesting information for fans of Google Pixel devices who are not yet using them but want to have the feel and looks of the interface in their otherphones.

To make this realistic, you need to download the Google Pixel Launcher app and install it on your Android phone.

Though the app is not currently available in Play Store but you can download it from third-part app store and that would mean that you have to grant your smartphone permission to install apps from “unknown sources”.

Recall Google Pixel is one of the smartphones launched last year by Google with features such as Snapdragon 821 processor, 4GB RAM, 12mp/8mp back and front cameras respectively, fingerprint scanner, 2770mAh battery and lots more.

HOW TO INSTALL GOOGLE PIXEL LAUNCHER

✔️ First, go to your cell phone’s Settings menu -> Security -> Enable ‘Unknown Sources’.
✔️ Next, download the Launcher app to your Android smartphone by clickinghere
✔️ Now, tap on the downloaded APK notification to install the app.
✔️ Then, tap your phone’s Home button, and you will be prompted to choose a default launcher. Select Pixel launcher.

If tapping your home button does not prompt you, go to Settings -> Home app, choose Pixel launcher as your default launcher there. That is it. Your Android smartphone should now run using the Google Pixel Launcher.

The above download source provides two options, an Android Go optimised version and a stock Android version.

In my testing, I did not quite notice any differences in the two, but the idea is that the Android Go version should be lighter and use less resources.

That's how to download and install Google Pixel Launcher on any android phone without root.

Twitter Bans 270,000 Accounts For Promoting Terrorism

Twitter bans 270,000 accounts for ‘promoting terrorism’.

According to Twitter's latest transparency report, the social media company removed more than 270,000 accounts around the world for promoting terrorism in the second half of 2017.

The number of accounts permanently suspended for sharing what the firm called extremist content between July and December represents a drop for the second period in a row.

The Guardian reports:

The social network puts this down to"years of hard work making our site an undesirable place for those seeking to promote terrorism."

Nick Pickles, Twitter UK's head of public policy, said:

"The overwhelming majority of these accounts were detected by our own technology, with just 0.2% of the accounts we suspended in 2017 being flagged by the police."

Almost 75% of accounts were suspended before they sent their first tweet, according to the report, and 93% were discovered by tools that Twitter engineers had built.

Twitter is understood to also use a combination of US and EU lists of terrorist organizations as well as research from academics and experts to identify terrorists on its network.

The number of reports of abusive behavior submitted by government representatives also dropped amid a marked change in the type of abusive behavior reported.

Two-thirds of the 10,000 reports concerned violated rules over impersonation, with only 16% of the reports for harassment and 12% for hateful conduct.

Harassment and hateful conduct each accounted for a third of reported accounts in the first half of 2017.

Only a quarter of reports of abusive behavior submitted by government representatives were acted upon by Twitter, compared with 98% of reports relating to the "promotion of terrorism."

Intel Unveils Hexa-core Processor For Laptops

Intel Corporation is an American multinational corporation and technology company headquartered in Santa Clara, California, in the Silicon Valley.

It is the world’s second largest and second highest valued semiconductor chip makers based on revenue and they are also the inventors of the x86 series of microprocessors, the processors found in most personal computers (PCs).

Intel supplies processors for computer system manufacturers such as Apple, Lenovo, HP, and Dell.

Intel also manufactures motherboard chipsets, network interface controllers and integrated circuits, flash memory, graphics chips, embedded processors and other devices related to communications and computing.

At an event in Beijing on Tuesday, Intel unveiled its first-ever, 8th-gen, Core i9 processor for laptops.

The Intel Core i9-8950HK has six cores and 12 threads, making it Intel’s first hexa-core CPU for laptops.

It’s clocked at 2.9GHz but comes unlocked (meaning you can overclock it) and is capable of turbo frequencies (Intel’s lingo for boosting performance a little bit more as long as the processor is not overheated) of up to 4.8GHz.

The 12MB of cache and support for DDR4-2666 RAM should also help speed things up.

In real-life terms, Intel’s 8th-generation processor brings significantly faster gaming and 4K video editing; for the i9-8950HK specifically, Intel claims an overall 29% performance increase over the previous generation of Intel processors.

The new processor also comes with Intel’s Optane tech which increases memory and storage performance, as well as Intel’s 300 Series Chipset, which has integrated fast Gigabit Wi-Fi.

Here’s the bottom line:

This chip is significantly better, in most areas, than any Intel chip found in a laptop today.

Once this chip starts making it into actual laptops (likely gaming-oriented beasts), it will be a very interesting option for all the power users out there.

For the less ambitious, the company also launched new, 8th-gen Core i7 and i5 processors (all of the new processors are based on the company’s Coffee Lake platform).

The new i7 chips have 6 cores and 9MB of cache, while the i5 processors have 4 cores and 8MB of cache.

How To Enable Split Screen Function On Your Android Phone

Split Screen is sometimes called multiple window or double display. It allows you run two apps the same timein the same screen.

In other words, split screen divide the screen of your phone into two equal halves and run two apps simultaneously.

For example, you can be chatting on whatsapp and also watching YouTube videos on the same screen the same time.

This article will teach you how to enable this feature on your Android device.

Of course, it was a herculean task to achieve this on older Android versions but when Google released Android 6 Marshmallow, some smartphone brands like Samsung and Gionee started embedding the split screen features in some of their devices. (for instance,Gionee M6.)

More phone manufacturers embraced this feature when Android 7 was launched.

Since then, the number of split screen smartphones has increased though there are still phoneswithout this feature but there is a workaround to enable or activate it.

The Split screen function is also one ofthe most underrated functions on the nougat.

This function is so important, itis also present on the latest Android 8.0 Oreo, but in a much more improved version.

Activating a split screen on an Android device running on Android 7.0 and above is a piece of cake if you know how to go about it, but an uphill task if you are a novice in that field.

Here are some easy steps to activate and enjoy the function.

HOW TO ACTIVATE SPLIT SCREEN IN ANDROID 7+ DEVICES

Step 1: First you need to activate the"developer mode". This is not really compulsory, but it would help you force some apps that were not designed to work with the split screen function to work by force. To do this go to Settings > About this device > Build number. Once you are there, clickon Build number a few times until you get a notice saying you are now a developer.

Step 2:Once in the developer mode, scroll down to the end of the page and enable the option that says “Force activities to be resizable”. Once you dothis, restart your device to activate the option. Once you have restarted your device, even those apps that aren’t usually compatible with the split screen option will be able to run in split-screen mode.

Step 3:Click on the recent button and click and hold any open app, then drag it to the upper part of the screen. Once you do that, you would see the screen has been divided into two.

Personally, i don't usually use the split features on my phone except once in awhile. What about?

USA Visa Applicants To Submit 5 Years Of Social Media Activities

The State Department Wants to Require Visa Applicants to Submit Five Years of Social Media Details.

(WASHINGTON) — The State Department wants to require all U.S. visa applicants to submit their social media usernames, previous email addresses and phone numbers, vastly expanding the Trump administration’s enhanced vetting of potential immigrants and visitors.

In documents to be published in Friday’s Federal Register, the department said it wants the public to comment on the proposed new requirements, which will affect nearly 15 million foreigners who apply for visas to enter the U.S. each year.

Previously, social media, email and phone number histories were only sought from applicants identified for extra scrutiny, such as those who have traveled to areas controlled by terrorist organizations.

An estimated 65,000 people per year are in that category.

The new rules would apply to virtually all applicants for immigrant and non-immigrant visas.

The department estimates it would affect 710,000 immigrant visa applicants and 14 million non-immigrant visa applicants, including those who want to come to the U.S. for business or education, according to the documents.

The documents were posted on the Federal Register’s website on Thursdaybut the 60-day public comment period won’t begin until Friday’s edition is published.

If the requirements are approved by the Office of Management and Budget, applications for all visa types would list a number of social media platforms and require the applicant to provide any account names they may have had on them over the previous five years.

It would also give the applicant the option to volunteer information about social media accounts on platforms not listed in the application.

In addition to their social media histories, visa applicants will be asked for five years of previously used telephone numbers, email addresses, international travel and deportation status, as well as whether any family members have been involved in terrorist activities.

Only applicants for certain diplomatic and official visa types may be exempted from the requirements, the documents said.

OMG!! Google URL Shortener Goo.gl Set To Shut Down

Google URL shortening service will be shutting down starting from April 2018. The announcement was made in a blog post by Google.

This is a sad news as goo.gl is one of the most popular and used URL shortener on the internet.

Google will be shutting down goo.gl url shortener come April 2018, but on April 13, users who uses goo.gl as a guest or anonymously will no longer be able to short links.

While users who shorten links from their Google account will continue to do so until one year from today—March 30, 2019.

For those who already have a shortened links, the links will continue to work.

Developer projects that haven't used goo.gl before today will be unable to create short links with the service starting May 30 this year 2018 — those that have can keep using goo.gl up until that same March 30, 2019.

As seen in my goo.gl account Google says it's winding down support for goo.gl in favor of Firebase Dynamic Links, single links that can lead to different destinations depending on the type of device they're accessed from.

But Firebase Dynamic Links aren't a replacement to goo.gl short links; they're not something non-developers will have use for.

What Other URL Shortening Service Should I Use?

Google recommends alternative URL shortening services like Bitly.com and Ow.ly as more direct alternatives to goo.gl.

Do You Know These 4 Secret WhatsApp Features?

You may be actively using whatsapp for some years now but I bet you that there are still features you never new existed on the chatting platform.

At the moment, WhatsApp has over 1 Billion active users worldwide, hence making it worlds most popular Instant Messaging app.

It's available both on Android, iOS and Blackberry but unfortunately, BB users were stripped off of the app recently.

Maybe you have read similar articles previously but I'm sure you may not have come across some of these hidden features I will unveil here for you.

As a matter of fact, I have 4 hidden whatsapp features that will wow you.

Relax and read them below.

4 SECRET WHATSAPP FEATURES FOR EVERYONE

1. How To Know Who Has Read Your Message In A Group Chat:

Of course you may be familiar with the trick on how to know who read you message in private but what about group chat?

This one is a tricky one. We often get frustrated when we pass a message in a group and no one responds. But with this feature, you can tell who and who has read your group message.

This is how it is done, Press and hold the message you have sent and tap the‘i’ button on the top on Android (‘info’ on an iPhone).

The app will then show you all the people from the group who have read that particular message and the time they read it.

2. Send Gifs In A Jiffy

Graphic Interchange Format (GIF) is a feature that is fast becoming popular.

Some people now prefer the use of GIFs instead of emoji.

On Telegram forinstance, GIFs are more popularly used maybe because there are many options available in the platform for users to select from. Also whatsapp now has its own pre-installed GIFs.

You don’t have to search the internet for appropriate GIFs. WhatsApp has its own collection of GIFs.

To use a GIF on whatsapp, simply hit the ‘+’ sign, go to Photo & Video Library. See that magnifying glass icon next to GIF?, tap that and you’ll find a collection powered by Tenor (or the smiley face on Android and click on GIF down).

Don’t see what you need? Just tap the search bar to look for the GIF that perfectly sums up your feelings.

3. Find Out Who You Chat With The Most

With this trick, you will know the people you spend more time chatting with. Just in case your boyfriend accuses you of chatting with other people more than you do with him.

All you need to do is simple. Go to Settings > Data and Storage Usage > Storage Usage and you’ll see a list of your most important groups and contacts ranked according to the data you’ve expended on them.

4. Find Out The Real Location Of Someone

Last year, WhatsApp introduced location sharing features which allows you or your friend to easily share your current location via chat with the help of the inbuilt map on whatsapp.

To avoid getting duped again, insist that the contact shares their current location with you by tapping on the arrow icon next to the text box and then Share Location.

There’s also a way of preventing them from manually entering their location. The way the location appears is a clue.If it’s a real GPS-based location, the location share will appear as a dropped pin, but if it’s a location they entered, its address will appear beside the dropped pin.

These are some of the hidden features on whatsapp.

Don't Forget To Share...

Twitter is the latest company to ban Cryptocurrency related ads after the likes of Google and Facebook also banned ads from Bitcoin, Ethereum, Swisscoin and other crypto platforms.

While 2017 was a relatively good year for Cryptocurrency, 2018 is showing signs of bad news in the business.

The value of most crypto platforms are depreciating by the day.

I know how much I invested in Bitcoin and Ether early this year. Also last year,I invested much on Swisscoin but all seems to be heading towards yabaleft.

Anyway, be it as it may, the hustle mustcontinue. One thing that has sustained me all the days of my life is determination. I always refuse to quit no matter the condition and I always have plan B in all my adventures.

Once online business is concerned, one has to spread his or her tentacles across different platforms so that if one door closes, another will surely open.

My hope is not totally lost in Cryptocurrency but if the worst happens and I loose all the money I pushed into it, life continues.

For now, I won't still sell my coins in panic. I will wait till the end.

Now back to the topic, Twitter announced that a new Policy will be rolled out in the course of the next 30 days, and the policy prohibits advertising of initial coin offerings, ICOs, a form of crowd-funding used to raise cash by creating new coins.

Also included are adverts that promotetoken sales and crypto wallet services, the company said in a statement.

The policy will also ban adverts from crypto-exchanges, with some limited exceptions.

For Japan, these will be limited to crypto exchanges regulated by its national financial regulator, Twitter said.

Twitter said this month it was taking measures to prevent crypto-related accounts from engaging with others in a deceptive manner,’ but it has faced calls to go further after bans by Facebook and Google.
