Interswitch Spak Science Competition Set To Reward STEM Students in Nigeria

Interswitch has unveiled its Speed, Precision, Accuracy and Knowledge (SPAK) National Science Competition in a bid to promote, identify and reward excellence in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) in Nigeria.
The project is an arm of the company’s “Switch-a-future” initiative that aims at re-igniting the importance of STEM education for 20 million teenagers and 10,000 schools across Nigeria, as well as providing opportunities for more academic exploits.

The Interswitch SPAK initiative holds more in store than just a competition, it will also include mentoring and masterclass sessions with the CEO, Mitchell Elegbe and other industry experts, science boot camps, Adopt-a-School programme where Interswitch employees volunteer to teach at a local secondary school,and an entertaining TV series across terrestrial TV stations in Nigeria.
The competition is strictly for SS2 (Year 11) students between the ages of 14-17 years. Students are expected to get registered through their school. However, interested Parents can encourage ward’s school to register their wards.

How To Register for Interswitch SPAK Competition

Participation on InterswitchSPAK is FREE for all (schools/students) and registration to participate is strictly online via www.interswitchspak.com
InterswitchSPAK registration starts on Wednesday 21st of February, 2018 and closes on Sunday 15th of April 2018.
The National Qualifying Examination holds on Saturday 21st of April 2018 at designated centers across Nigeria including FCT, Abuja. and students are advised to check their results via the online platform (www.interswitchspak.com) from Monday 21st of May, 2018.

The best 81 students (with the highest scores) out of those who wrote the qualifying examination will be invited to participate at the round two stage of the competition. This will be recorded and transmitted on TV/ Social media across Nigeria and Africa.

The top 2 students will be awarded a 5-year scholarship, a mac laptop and gold trophy; and a 3-year scholarship, a laptop and a silver trophy accordingly while the third will receive a 2-year scholarship, a laptop, and a bronze trophy.
